Ode to Used Cars

happiness is arriving safe and on time in a beat-up bargain basement brown 1972 L.T.D. worth less than the radio inside it, all cars with still shinny paint cower and yield in fear.

used cars like well worn shoes bien broken in, full of personality and attitude of cigarette burns, change between the seats, dented bumpers and door-dings affording the second, third, fourth and fifth owners something the original buyer never had,

right of way.
