Scrubbing Bubbles Sharron shuddered as she stared at the naked man washing soap off his face in her shower. She knew she should stop gawking at him and call the police. After all, the authorities offered $500 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the mysterious Zesty Bandit. Until this point, Sharron couldn't understand why no one had positively IDed the man now standing buck naked under her shower head. While 35 women had reported finding the hygienic maniac in all stages of undress over the last three months, each claimed not to remember what he looked like. St. Peter city officials even called in Federal Agents to help in their round the clock search for a pattern or method which would lead to the apprehension of this soap and water thief. Expert criminal psychologists flew in from around the country to help create a personality sketch of this man who was, as the chief of police quipped in a news conference, "a true wet-behind-the-ears criminal." Sharron found that when she tried to look away she couldn't, and yet at the same time her eyes refused to focus on his face. Maybe it was all the steam in the air fogging up her bifocals, or perhaps it was the fact that her was using her favorite towel. Whatever it was, she kept thinking to herself, "I'm his 36th victim yet I feel like I should thank him." For Sharron, age 72, the routine act of showering would never be the same again.
